Horses in Pastel

Wilma

Wilma

Pastel on pastel card. Such a kind, gentle mare.

Wilma in the words of her owner, 'I still remember the first time I saw her as a 2yr old, she was an iron grey in those days with white mane and tail.. she was galloping around the field with the wind under her tail with all the joy and enthusiasm that young horses have. I have memories of blissful rides in bluebell woods in the spring. She was bred for showjumping but preferred the more ladylike dressage at which she was moderately successful. I remember her grateful snicker the first time I put a hooded stable rug on and her squeal when I called her for food. She was never marish and was my dear friend for 23 years.
